I have a *very messed up* 1500 word short fantasy of the darkest description, if one or two people would be interested in taking a look at the whole thing. (When I say very messed up, I'm not kidding. In a VC Andrews kind of a way, although not in a Oedipus kind of a way, thank goodness.) I'm curious to get a couple general reactions, because this is very much not the kind of thing I typically write. (It's in present tense, for one thing. I hate present tense.) First segment is posted below.

quote:

She's watching him again today, this young-young man with the sun-blond hair and the eyes picked up from the droplets of the sea, grey and rainy, cloudy weather ahead. But she already knew that. Promises are one thing, but damnation you can rely on, forever.
He's not that young, she tells herself.
Not that young. Even in her head, it feels like an excuse.

Thank you! Wonderful. It's winging its way through cyberspace as we speak. (Well, in a matter of speaking...)

You know I like the way you write. Very *there* - very *right on*... And moving. Definitely.

I'm at lindsay@lindsayrandall.com.

Whatever you want to send, I'll read and respond to.

Thank you, Lindsay! I'm making some changes based on what people have said, but if you'd be willing to take a look in a couple of days, it'd be fantastic.

Looks like you have enough, but if you need some help down the road feel free to send me a revision.

Yes, still willing. A few days is even better for me. Looking forward to it!
