...I found a brilliant book (actually my wife did) called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It's exactly what the title suggests: Pride and Prejudice but with zombie hordes attacking throughout the story. It is the funniest thing I have come across in a long time. Something about a zombie infestation being described in the formal, Victorian style of Jane Austen is hilarious.

When "the unmentionables" (the zombie horde) smash through the windows at the ball where Elizabeth meets Darcy, she calmly remarks that some of the unmentionables are "wearing dresses that were so tattered as to render them nearly scandalous." Brilliant.

I wish I would have thought of the idea first.

I picked up a copy while on vacation last month, but haven't yet gotten around to reading it. I'm intrigued by the writer's next announced project: "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."

I plan on buying it and also "The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead" for my husband for his birthday. They both look hilarious. The survival guide includes definitions of different types of zombies, firearms, and all sorts of other intesting tidbits.

I read a couple of pages of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies at the bookstore last weekend, and it found its onto my wish list. Now to scrape together my allowance so I can afford another book...
