Today is the 70TH Engineer Battalion close out ceremony. There will be lots of fancy marching and a bunch of combat vets attempting to sing the 1ST Armored Division, and the US Army Engineer songs. (We joined the Army to fight, not learn how to sing) I myself on the other hand won’t be there. I start a new chapter in my military career. I am going to armor school to become a Company armor. I originally thought as did my squad leader that I was just going to be a platoon armor meaning I only deal with the arms of my PLT, but as we found out that the slot is for an Company armor. I will be working on all the arms in the arms room. This will make me even more qualified to work on any weapon we have than I already know how to do, (just makes me “qualified” to work on the weapons legally according to the Army.)

Lots of luck to ya, though I doubt you'll need it.
(Hmmm... left over luck... interesting idea)

Yet again 70TH ENG chain of command has managed to screw things up. Of the 10 of us who were to be in armor school, only one was on the list to actually be in the class. Now I have to waite again till I get to White Sands NM to go. I thought it would be impossible for the chain of command to screw something up this bad again.

Never underestimate human stupidity, or any chain of command’s ability to screw things up.
