Since I appearantly passed KDW's Humanity test (not sure how that happened yet) and was admitted to your fine treehouse, I thought I should finally say hello to everyone (I've been lurking, reading and learning for a few days).
I'm guessing I'm here for the same reasons as everybody else. I enjoy learning and sharing information on writing and telling stories. I'm currently deployed, but hope to use what free time I have to learn, grow and (If I'm lucky) start getting some ideas ready for their first rejection letters. Since those lead to the first non-rejection letters, I hear.
I originally hail from Detroit (yes, *that* place) but have spent the last nearly two decades roaming the earth (mostly in Asia) in uniform. I know I'll need new skills when I start having a life again, and hopefully it will be a writer's life.
Thank you all for having me and I hope I can give back some small percentage of what I learn.
As you seem to know already you came to the right place to learn something about writing and rejections as well as sharing your thoughts.
However I must warn you, You're deployed-- I assume that is in the military but which branch? -- Anyway you may know how to handle strange events but in any event be careful with that unicorn, she can be mean.

Thank you for the welcome. And if I see the unicorn I'll just tell her stories of my friend who was nicknamed after her kind when he accidently said Unicorn instead of Uniform over the Iraq Radio Net. She'll be too busy grinning to be mean.
1 second mistake, sticks for years.
