The Library of Living Dead is one cool publisher. Intergalactic Nuisance was bought by them for their print humor anthology, Probing Uranus. Honorable people, paid a penny a word...every word. The check even had 53 cents for the 53 words I didn't include in the word count.
My story is the third one in the anthology, and the back blurb even has a small mention of its plot (which is sweet).
Here is a link to it's cover - Warning! PG-13(but it's appropriately funny)
Genevive, I believe, first brought them to my attention when she asked for crits on story she wrote for a bacon anthology. I think she sold it to them. They have lots of calls for submissions, at least three that I know of, and likely more. Their anthologies are usually very specific. Great publisher. I submitted once before to them and they gave me a sizable critique (as in two or three paragraphs) with the rejection.
If you do submit to them I recommend joining their forum. It's the best way to keep track of any information on your submission and state of the anthology (they tend to ignore emails).

You got me at "bacon anthology," snapper. I can't imagine what were the submission requirements. Personally, I believe I would have passed -- it being treyf (unkosher) and all.
Although... ...as I type this... ...the thought of creating a kosher pig by genetic engineering... ...and the resultant moral and halakhic (Jewish legal), even theological, dilemmas... ...the mixture of Jewish humor and angst in facing such a conundrum...
Thanks for the info, snapper. May I assume it is in the Forum that the Publisher states his opportunities for submissions?
Respectfully, Dr. Bob
P.S. I am really pleased for Frank. And I am glad he has many other story sales. It would have been difficult for me, however. I can't imagine telling my friends, my father, brother, or my wife, "Hoorah! My first sale is Probing Uranus!" They would have never have let me live this down (1 cent per word or not).

Well, the bacon anthology is already in print, and my story Intergalactic Nuisance is on its second go around. Atomjack (now defunct) bought it some time ago so this one is a reprint. Sweet selling it twice.
