Thank you to everyone helped me tweak the hook. My self-published first installment serial-novella is out! And selling really really well and already got a flood of positive reviews. At #6,087 in the kindle store currently and climbing, I'm super stoked.
Here's my favorite customer review, because it was YOU GUYS who helped me craft that stellar hook. YOU DID IT:
The story starts with a great hook. Artemis is a sort of BBW Harry Potter - the famous "girl who lived" and who no one has been able to find since her parents' grisly deaths at the hands of were beasts. I really enjoyed the way technology is part of this world. Reminds me a bit of Mira Grant's "Feed". At any rate, the hero is a perfect mix of hot, dominant and helpful. And the writing is really excellent -it flows off the page easily so you can lose yourself in the story! I don't even feel guilty for enjoying a little steamy PNR because there are so many edifying Shakespeare quotes! I am totally hooked! Will be reading the next one as soon as it is available!
When werebeasts emerged from extinction to attack her family, Artemis Williams ran. From the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, her nightmares, and most of all her future as the mate of a werewolf. But after seven years of false alarms, Artemis decides to return home.
Unfortunately, that’s when destiny catches up to her and invades her dreams in the form of a dangerously sexy arctic werewolf. Her mate. He can set her curvy body on fire with a single look, claim her soul with a touch and Artemis knows it’s only a matter of time until he hunts her down in reality, too.
But he's not the only monster lurking in the darkness...
Moonbound is a 20,000 word serial novella and the first installment in the Moonfate Serial.

Mazel tov! I read the opening on Amazon and the reviews, and admired the book cover. I agree: Well-written and well-done.
You put a unique twist on more-than-one established (and too often unoriginally mimicked) genres, providing the established audience for such tales with something new to excite them.
May you have continued success.
Respectfully, Dr. Bob
