Maybe I'll send the "time travel on Mars" story I'm working on. Got to finish it up first, though.

Intriguing, but most of my stuff is just a little farther away. (Jim Baen made me a published writer---a letter-to-the-editor in Galaxy way back when was my first publication.)

BTW from someone on the WotF forum who knows a couple of winners comes these points.

"1. Hard science fiction. No magic, no elves, no zombies. No non-speculative stories.

2. Near future.

3. Near space.

4. Hope for the future."

And from previous winning stories near space is anything in our system. Even a comet or two.

I might have two stories that could fit but I would have to add a bunch to each. One is at least related to hard SF. I don't do much of that but maybe I can come up with something. I know I can come up with something that fits the other three points.

Oh and one judge said that if you follow the rules you already have 90 percent of the other stories beat. I can do that but it's beating the other ten percent that is so hard--it's my writing after all.
