Am I truly that self-centered?

Probably.

So, I received my Kindle, like, days ago, and mentioned something about it and this Grist mill, but no one bit, so I've decided to fish somewhere else.

I'm buying five e-books, one from each of the first five unique posters who link directly to their book.

Axeminister, I'm amazed! You started this post almost 4 months ago, and there's only ONE writer here with an eBook for you?

For what it's worth, if memory serves, the sale was in 2004, so I can't speak to whether it reflects the market currently. It sure did make me a happy camper, though. I got the email around midnight, while everyone else in the house was asleep, so I did a happy dance in the closet. Didn't want to wake up the kidlet!
