Oh bother! Why can't I find it when I have been seeing it everywhere?

What are people talking about with these NaNo things? What are they, and what do they have to do with writing because it seems people use them for this purpose? I am both confused and curious, can anyone enlighten me?

NaNoWriMo = National Novel Writing Month.

It is the month of November, specifically. The challenge to all writers is to write a novel (50k words) in one month. Don't look back or fiddle or edit or care...just get the words out there onto the page and do it in a month.

There is even a website for this challenge wher eyou can sign up, chat with others who are attempting the challenge, and report your success. I can't remember the address of the top of my head but google knows.

Thanks so much, I kept trying to figure it out on my own, but nothing but "Mork and Mindy" was coming to mind, so I finally thought I would ask.

Very intersting, I might need something like that to break through my procrastination when it comes to novel writing.

I found it very effective. And even if I never get published, my husband regrew his beard. Though now everyone is asking if he's going to become a polygamist. National Novel Editing Month starts tomorrow.

I use the NaNo each year to kick off each novel.

It's an excellent way to get a 50,000 word draft!

Glad you asked, I was wondering about that myself. Hehe... Mork and Mindy... funny, that's the first thing that came to my mind, too!

I'll have to check that site out. It looks like it might be just what I need to give me a kick in the pants, motivation-wise.

-Dare I ask why?

Sure, it's because he read my description of how much I liked it when I first met him.
