On the topic of theoretical physics I have an idea I've been kicking around, but it's possible (likely) that I misunderstand something.
In "Elegant Universe" Brian Greene mentions that there may be a duality of size in the universe. That the universe may have another intrinsic counterpart that is contracting at a rate proportional to it's expansion. This isn't another part of the universe, though. It's the same universe seen from a different angle. Look at it with this way, it's immense. Look at it this way, it's tiny.
He said that this barrier of perception could be physically crossed by winding a super-string 2-3 times. This would create a particle with enough density and energy that it'd actually see a universe a few millimeters across.
My question is this: If you have a particle that see's the universe as a few millimeters across, and you move it at only a couple inches per second relative to you, wouldn't it be going several thousand times the speed of light in the other view? If these particles are detectable by us, wouldn't at least FTL communication be possible? And if they are so dense and have so much energy (especially if going several thousand c) couldn't you pretty much irradicate a planet with one of these, or would it be like shooting a cloud with a bullet?

I was thinking of a story once based on the existence of a position in space that is relativistically slow. The people there could monitor the safety of robot cars and control surgical nanoprobes... and I forgot the other thing.
A different conception of this story was of "guardian angels", and for each one that was relativistically slow (and could intervene in miraculous ways) there was a "counterweight", a relativistically fast angel who could see the bigger picture of a person's life. I thought it might be a good fictional frame to retell the Mountain Meadows Massacre. (Which is a Mormon/Arkansas thing, apologies to those who fall outside those subsets).

If you moved this particle a few inches from your perspective, then it wouldn't move perceptibly in its perspective. In order to move it a few millimeters in its perspective, you'd have to move it across the universe in your perspective.
Basically, your idea rests on the misconception that if I can see something, then it automatically follows that you can see the same thing. This is simply not true.
Anyway, this sort of thing is the reason that most FTL devices employ a certain amount of "handwavium" or are constructed as black boxes. Don't get wound in a knot over the theoretical justification for your technology, just work out the practical applications and effects you need and let the rest alone.

Remember the String Theory is used to connect/justify Realivity with Quantum.
The use of alternate dimensions (up to 11) have been theorized.
But, like Alice in the Looking Glass, once you step into the 'other' dimension, you won't last long...
Anyway, perspective is based on the dimension. To view the string another way is to view it from another dimension.
Can FTL and Communication use the String Theory?
I think it's a possibility. Already there is a scientist out there who's 'planned' a time travel device, but the energy it would take to make the thing work is a little beyond us right now. But, in Theory, the thing looks great!
