I believe you have 'track changes' turned on. Go to the review tab at the top and turn it off.

Sounds like you have the track changes feature on. If that's deliberate, to get rid of the line, you have accept the change. To do this, you have to right click at the end of the last paragraph and accept the change.

Hope this sorts out your problem.
