I'm a bit confused and in need of directions. Several times I've seen posts about specific help groups for different things. Two of these I'm sure would be beneficial to me such as the novel writers group and the WOTF group. How do I find these and participate?

Novel writers group is under Hatrack Groups and is called
"NSG" for novel support group. They generally have a new topic started each week.

WOTF is in the same Hatrack Groups and are generally called Wotf Critique Group. There is a Wotf early submission group and sometimes a regular submission group.

Since I have been posting the weekly Novel Support Group (NSG) thread each Friday I can address that.

Mostly what the NSG post is used for each week is as a reminder to all of us writing novels to do some writing. We generally talk about whether we have met our goals for the week and express our excuses for not doing our writing (at least that is what I have been doing lately).

To my knowledge this is not a group that "gets together" to discuss our works in progress. Perhaps that is something we could move up to. However, since so many of us have works that are in various stages of development, it may be difficult to share some of our work. This is something the NSG could look into.

A-HA! Thank you both for pointing me in the right direction . Everyone was talking about "Hatrack Groups", but I didn't see a link listed anywhere to find them. I'll definitely check these groups out.

Thanks, again.

Hey William, I saw your post after I made this one. Thanks for your input.

William, since you joined late--with a few others--you may not realize that we also have chapter swaps, when swappers are available.

The main purpose of the "Novel Support Group" is to keep each other writing; help each other try to achieve those goals we can; be a sounding board for ideas writers are unsure of; have someone to swap for critiques with; share what we've learned about the business and industry.

Basically, I created NSG to be a community of novel writers, in different stages of their writing, all trying to achieve the same goal and help the rest get there, too.
