05-25-09 Did You write?

Another prompt here, to assist in getting all of us to write. This is posted each week in hopes that you will realize the note is coming up and you will write something, sometime during the week, so you can report that you actually wrote. This is also a place to brag about your accomplishments, cry about your failures, and to otherwise tell what is happening in your life.

We can all agree that any new writing is writing. But since few of us are perfect in our writing, Editing has also to be writing, even if it is editing the work of others. Poetry, article writing, writing assignments, are also writing. World or character building is also writing, as long as something gets on paper. E-mails can also be writing, as long as they are very wordy, and pertain to writing or a story.

I did not write this week. I was involved in house work during my free time, preparing for my turning club meeting, and getting some projects ready to be delivered. I never had the free time to write. During the weekend, I left early to get some finishing touches done. This morning is a holiday. Luckily, I was the only one in the company who did not know we were not going to be open today. I have the keys to the office and open the office each morning, so was all ready to work when no one came in.... Oops!!

I am up to date on the story ideas. I started this late so I have no idea if I will be able to post my story idea tonight. Will see.

As to the question of the day,
no, I did not write.

DID YOU WRITE?

Yes, I wrote, mostly on Book Two. I'm in the middle of writing a new scene. I've also done some work on world building for another story that's been rolling around in the back of my mind. That story still has some ripening to do, but I've made notes about milieu.

I need to force myself back to the synopses. And I still need to revisit a couple of short stories and see what I can make of them.

Yes.
I had been stuck at a point in my novel where I knew what would happen when my character escaped from his current situation, and I knew how he would escape, I just couldn't get him to the point where he could escape. It was a small leap but there seemed a wall in front of me. I had been going back and mucking with earlier scenes but avoiding that one small scene that would allow me to progress. Somehow, while at work of course, I had an idea and managed to produce 1000 words at lunch time.
I wrote the needed scene and am now ready to go on. life is good.

Yes, I can say that I wrote today. I think I may actually have a chance to meet my goals for the week.

I wrote a few things. A couple of stories. Did some critiques and rewrites.

The holiday weekend curtailed my writing activities.

Anxious to get started on Midsommer Madness and get back into novel work again.

I didn't write much because of the holiday weekend, but I did get a little bit of work done on one of my novels and started re-reading the one I finished a few weeks ago. The latter doesn't suck as much as I thought it did - hurrah!

I managed to restart my story Thursday, after my vacation...five hundred words, every other day...total combined from the narrative itself and notes for it...production on the light side...but said production pushed over ten thousand words total yesterday...

Yes, a little, not as much as I wanted or as much as the first months had allowed, but I did.

Yep, I wrote. Not as much as I would like, of course. I spent a good bit of time on character development and trying to flesh out the world.
