If people find other lists of titles, perhaps they could post a link to them on this thread; it will serve the dual function of acting as a resource and as well as bumping it to the top.

But these examples are titles that were influnced by a passage in another piece of literature. Do you want us to write an opening where a title to a book is in it? For example...
I found the great Gatsby on the stoop of my apartment building holding a bottle of cheap wine while smoking the butt of a cigarette he dug out of a crack in the sidewalk.
