Santa won't bring you all the wonderful goodies if you are bad boys and girls, so you had better start writing, and make Santa happy. the purpose of this note is to give you an incentive to write. You know it is coming and the hope is that you will realize the note is coming up, and you want to report something, so you will write something, anything, sometime during the week so you can proudly proclaim your good works as a reply to this note.
Periodically, there is questions on what is writing. My answer is, if you think it is writing, then it must be. All new writing, is writing. Editing, even if it is not your work, is writing. critting, poetry, technical articles, blogging, writing assignments, world and character building especially if something gets on paper, are all writing. E-mails can be writing if they are very wordy and pertain to story or writing. There are more, you just have to decide that you wrote.
As for me, Yes I did write. I added a page, and 100 words to the second story in the Waxy series. This started where the first story ended. I did not get much chance to write this week which is why there is so little word count this week. I did get in a scene I needed, and will now prepare for them to go on their adventure. I am not exactly sure how It will go. I don't have an outline or even planned out. I have some situations I want to hit and will let the evil keyboard tell me what it wants to say. What I wrote so far is horrible, but I've aimed at getting the action written first. I will add all the other stuff the story needs, after I get it written.
The very first story I ever finished, was a simple bit of drivel. I noted in incomplete sentences what scenes I wanted to hit until I finished the story. I then completed the sentences, then added information before and after to carry on the thought. I kept adding and expanding until I ended up with a complete story. It was not good, but it was a written story. When I am willing to edit, I have found that writing by editing has been easiest for me. I get the basic story down, then go back and fill in details, description, dialog, and so on. I improve the sentences I have and make them more relevant. I still prefer to sit down and write from beginning to end, but writing by editing is fun too. I have even started on middle scenes and developed from there. One nice thing about that, is that my planned beginning scenes tended not to be where the story started.
Counting tonight, because I am running late, I will be two story ideas behind for the month. I can catch that up easily. I don't even have time to do a note count tonight.
I have my Christmas ornaments on display at work. My boss, my biggest benefactor, picked up a few. I was surprised he even got any because of the economy. I doubt I will sell any more, but will try anyway. It is fun to see people's faces as they are impressed with my work. I am not impressed with it as I can point out all sorts of flaws, but the effect is good anyway. My sales pays for tools and some supplies. I don’t spend much for tools or supplies because my sales are not big.... I made some owls early in the month. They were supposed to be horned owls, but a couple looked like they were some sort of demon with horns, more than owls. One really looked good and after studying it, I figured out that owls are supposed to be wise, so a miter, the flat hats used in colleges, should be what it was wearing. I made six this weekend of that design and they are a whole lot better. They are not Christmas, but they might be something people will leave on their desk all year long. 'that happens to many of my ornaments.

The silly season is upon us and, down here anyway, that also means hot weather.
This year has been surprisingly mild, however it was over a hundred degrees on Sunday (39C), my house has no airconditioning and the insulation is twenty years old. It was fairly uncomfortable inside.
The good news however is that we have new airconditioning, new insulation, and even a new back garden being installed by contractors this week (assuming they show up). So I'm counting on a comfortable environment getting ready for the few days leave I'm taking for Christmas and on into 2010.
I still managed to finish my November short story, but then a natural inclination to put my feet up and rest on my laurels meant writing slowed down a little. Hopefully a cooler writing environment will help.

I did a lot of work on older stories, a flash, a short and continued to work on my Panix novel. Did some critiquing, but I feel I'm still a touched burnt out by NaNo.
I don't know what kind of effect the Holidays will have. I can feel my writerly feelings dissipate in the fog of Christmas.

Un forchently i was too druged up to remember to write anything today, i will be going to bed in about 2 hours and i need to check all 8 of my main e-mail accounts for an
INPORTANT message sent by a long lost friend who was able to find me and call me on a barrics phone. i dont know how but he did.
And no, i didn't write. These days i've been busy with college stuff, and was too tired to write anything afterwards. I've began to read some books which i had in mind for some time, aaaaaannnnd pretty much that's it.
I'm starting to think that i probably won't finish this thing in January, not to mention December.

Been averaging about 2000 new words a day and editing. I also have been plannng a new novel length YA fantasy that I want to start on 1.1. I also have been blogging daily.
Helps that I really don't much like Christmas and we are going very low key this year.
I want to start critting more. I critted a novel last week and would like to do another.

Again, I did five hundred words Saturday and five hundred more Sunday...and, since that finishes the draft (it came in at just under twenty thousand words, about a thousand of which are assorted notes and outlines), and with Christmas looming in ten days, that'll probably be it for me for the year.
My plans after that are to start a new version---I generally like to let things rest awhile before doing them again, but this needs some work that (I think) can be attended to immediately. Or, if a new idea pops up, I'll do that instead.
I critted a short story (sorry it took so long Sheena!) and wrote 1000 words on a short story of my own. Still haven't gone back to the nano novel, that one will have to rest until after the new year.

Yes! I wrote all kinds of stuff... does that mean I can up the ante on what I expect to get from Santa? Thinking of throwing down on the 'Cinders of the Great War' action... I can knock out 2000 words ina few days. I need a break from the behometh...

Yes, in spite of the computer issues, I wrote 1800 words on the Cinders of the Great War challenge. I'll have to type it back into the "new" computer, though.
"New" computer has arrived. I'm taking a break from all of the set up right now. I should be ready for exchanges and crits by tomorrow at the latest.

Hacked out the first draft of my Challenge with Characters(s) entry.
Worked on tightening my WotF entry. Should be done by the weekend.
Worked on my YA query letter. Should be done by the turn of the century. Not necessarily this century.
Worked on my mainstream novel. I also interviewed a police officer the other day...and quickly realized that one of my scenes might require a slight revision.
