RoxyL, when you look at a post you have written (after you've posted it), you will see, on the same line as your name, a date and time that you posted. To the right of that, are two or three icons (depending on whether you have made your email address accessible).
The icon with the question mark is a link to your profile, in case anyone wants to know what you've said about yourself.
The icon with the envelope is a link to your email address, if you've made your email address available.
The icon with the paper and pencil is the edit icon, and it will take you to a page that looks a little like the post reply page (or the post new topic page). Inside the reply box on this version of the page, however, you will see what you posted.
(You can use the edit link to see what anyone has posted, but you can't make any changes to someone else's post. The main reason you'd want to see what someone else has posted is to see how they coded things like quotes, or italics, or bold, etc.)
Once you have your post in a text box, you can make changes to it, including adding new stuff, such as another version of your first 13 lines.
Then you submit it and it goes back up in the topic with a note at the bottom saying when you changed the post.
