Anyone else going to this? I'm gonna be there for Sunday only...but it would be cool to meet anyone else.

I know a few Codexians who are going and a previous WOTF winner will be there, as well as a pro-author I know. Some folks from Hatrack would round it off nicely.

Tickets are still available.

Where and when is Eastercon?

There are some people at the WOTF message board who'd like to know.

It's on over the Easter weekend on the outskirts of London. I am just going for a day...Sunday.

GoH= Alastair Reynolds and Ian M. Banks (and others)...Aliette de Bodard (sliver fox from Hatrack and WOTF winner) who recently published 'Servant of the Underworld' with Harper Collins (Angry Robot) will be there, too.

Brad,

I had a look at the WOTF forum to see, but I couldn't find the question. I have never been to this before (or any other convention!) so I only have the press stuff to go on. It is the biggest and longest running (1940 something) convention in the UK.

I am free all day on the Sunday, bar an arrangement to meet a author (the main reason I am going). I would be interested in meeting up with anyone going...just give them my email--you've got it.

Thanks.

Well, I am home again after spending an all-too-brief day at the con.

I attended a codex writer's panel on anthologies, which was very interesting.

It was a shame I was only there a few hours as it would have been great to introduce myself , but I had to scoot early to meet a previous WOTF winner and get the low-down on the WOTF week and award ceremony--which was enlightening.

I was lucky enough to spend a few hours in the company of a successful professional author who introduced me, and recommended me, to some agents and publishers--so now my manuscript (yet to be written) is 'solicited' and get's through the front door.

I also got to meet and chat briefly with Aliette de Bodard (silver3) about WOTF, getting an agent and a deal, her new book, and writing in general...again, very enlightening.

A day wasn't enough. Next year I'll go for at least a few days. It was great.
