Just wanted to keep Hatrackers abreast of some new interviews over at the Writers of the Future forum. As part of my duties as forum admin for the Contest I've also been seeking out interviews with notable judges and past winners.

Most recently I've gotten an interview out of two of the newest judges, each of whom has a history steeped in the Contest and each of whom has a brain packed full of great advice for everyone trying to break into the fiction world.

Give it a look?

INTERVIEW: Dean Wesley Smith
http://forum.writersofthefuture.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=658

INTERVIEW: Kristine Kathryn Rusch

I'll keep this thread at Hatrack updated as new interviews are available. If anyone wants me to try and do an interview with someone in particular, please ping me and let me know who that would be? I prefer people with some kind of connection to the Contest, either as a judge, or as a winner, or someone like Kevin J. Anderson who entered a ton, never won, but was successful anyway.

Great articles Brad, thanks.

Some valuable info for those of us trying to claw our way up.

I liked Kristine's comment about 'winning the contest' and how it validates you to those that say - "Now that you got that out of your system."

It also answered a couple questions I had about editing your own stuff and how often you should submit work.

Thanks again,

W.

Good interviews, Brad and thanks for posting.

I like the advice and it seems to be consistent with successful writers.

My thanks also.

and I think Kris's quotation from Algis Budrys about doing what you want goes along with the discussion on another thread.

Interesting stuff there.
