Hey everyone, I was just wondering if any of you have heard of the site writers.com. They offer classes online for writers and I signed up for one. I've never taken a writing class before and just wondered if any of you have had an experience with them. If so, what did you think? Worth your time and money or not? I'm registered for an ongoing fiction workshop with Shelley Singer. She's a published author/teacher. The premise of the class is solely submissions. It's for people who are working on a novel to get feedback from others in the class and the teacher. If you know something, I'd like to hear about it!

I haven't took a class online, but my mother resells books for fun and extra money and any time she's out getting new books to resell if she sees a writing book she'll pick it up for me. I'm also always scoping the net looking for any help I can get. Almost everything I've ever seen has been the same. The basic which we learnt back in school, a few stylistic rules, and the golden rule... Break any rule you want if it makes the story better.

I took online classes with Cat Rambo and a course with Holly Lisle. She offers a plethora of writing and business related classes. Having been one of the Fantasy Magazine editors her advice is invaluable.
Holly will be returning to writing fiction full time so I am not sure when her courses will cease to exist.
