Yes, it's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

Wow, have I ever been writing. I swear, one of my characters kidnapped me this weekend. I know it's NaNo, but this is nuts even on that scale, for me at least. In the last week, I've clocked in 28,168 words on my new novel, Where The Ether Flows, which brings it to a total of 40,698. Wow. Just... wow.

Oh, and while all this was going on, I was still working on some ideas, mostly development for the second and third books in this new trilogy, but also some new insights on other ideas I've been working on.

And a bunch of blog posts too, while I was at it.

Me, keep busy? Never.

How about everyone else?

-Julie

Yes. Other than a couple of blog posts and a couple of critiques, it's all been revisions on "The Music Box". I think I'm finally through that, or mostly, and can work on other things.

Just staggered through a few hundred words of revision---for some reason, my days have been crowded. And I'm fresh out of anything new I want to write about.

I expended myself here (which is fun), in grievance statements (which is not fun), and assorted letter-writing---I'm involved in a fascinating correspondence at the moment (and is also fun.)

I suppose, once I finish revising, I'll reach into my bag of "breaking writer's block" tricks and do something about it.

Yes I did. Weekend proved to be the saving grace again. While I edited throughout the week, it was pretty much "tinkering" with most of the work coming on Saturday. 3 full chapters edited and that fateful 2nd chapter got some work done, fear it needs more than a little editing though.

Also wrote another short story. And submitted the 2 flash from last week.

All in all, a good week on the writing front.

I wrote about 3200 words of world-building and character background for a novel. Then I wrote the first 1000 words of said novel. And then my computer ate them.

Sigh.

That's all right. I can write them again. Still very frustrating.

I wrote 30K words that enabled me to finish my 80K novel draft. I revised my WotF entry for the third quarter.

I wrote today, not much and not fiction. Only 845 words, but there are probably the most meaningful and heartfelt words I've ever wrote, and I plan on doing the same every day for the rest of my life. Making myself set aside time to write fiction is next on the list, but this takes priority.
