It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

I wrote just shy of 10k last week to finish the novella I'd been writing. I'm kind of looking forward to going back and editing that one, as I think it turned out fairly well. Since then it's been editing and more editing, and some work on building my next novel's world and outline.

A couple of blog posts rounded out the week for me.

How about you? Did you write?

-Julie

First pass rewrite on my novel yielded 10,000 more words (I needed more of an ending). First draft on a short story was nearly 5,000 words.

Productive enough. Rewrites take time.

Seems I've had a really bad case of burn-out when it comes to my writing. The urge to do so is gone. I'm pretty sure it's temporary, but I feel the need to step away from it for awhile.

Adding to the problem is the fact that someone close to me passed away on Valentine's Day, and I just finished writing a requested article about him for the quarterly news letter of the horse registry he founded. I haven't felt like doing much of anything since he passed. Maybe later... in time.

Yes, I did. I've been working on a new story. Originally intended it to be a novelette, but I just passed 16,000 words and I'm not sure I'm even half-way. This might just decide it wants to be a novel, yet.

Also a little polishing work on THE BARD'S GIFT, a couple of crits, and two blog posts.

I managed to come up with a rough---very rough---draft of my poem. A set of verses (or spaces where they'll be) and a tentative chorus. But I haven't had the time to compress them.

Since this poem sits square upon my case of writer's block, I'll just have to keep bulling through until I get something semi-acceptable---or hope something emerges from my subconscious that engages me. Either way...

Finished my thesis on 'story premise' and posted it on my Website. I've also written a short description of the milieu for my Gaia story as well as working on developing the protagonist's character and psychology.

Other than that, I've sweated through nine continuous days of 32+ degree C heat during the day and 21 degree C during the night. Grrrr--Grumpy is grumpy.

It has been one of those weeks, nearly no writing. This week looks not much better.

Plodding along between, work, family, and procrastination.

A few hundred words here and there on WIP's. The problem is I get distracted by inspiration for a new story before I complete the growing list of incomplete ones. I blame OTP Contest #19 for my current distraction.

Respectfully,
Dr. Bob

Yep, I did.

I wrote on short stories, revised a couple, a little bit on two novel WIPs. One story is a 200 word tale for a contest or did I say that last week? At the moment I forget exactly when I sent it in.

Posted on two forums and Google +, E-mails.

Six or so posts HerE

Three are novel reviews. But you can see more on the bog thread.

I think that's it. Oh yeah, I started a new Novel but not sure where it will go after the first scene. It might just wait as one other novel opening is. I think that is all the current new stuff I am still working on at the moment.
