It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

I finished the revisions on my novella, Second Thoughts. It's now time to let it rest while I work on other things, but that's okay. I think I was really ready for a break from it by the end.

I've also made good progress on the outline for my July Camp NaNo, though there's still much to do with it. I have high hopes though. I think I can get it done in time, and even have it be good enough to proceed with on July 1st.

I also started another short story in response to a submittal theme, this one for Villains, stories about them, but I haven't gotten very far with it yet. Mostly mulling it right now, trying to find the right way into it. I know where it ends, and have a good idea of the middle already.

Other than that, I've found another couple of plot bunnies hopping around in my brain and made a few blog posts.

That's about it for me. How about you? Did you write?

-Julie

Yes, I wrote. Mostly revisions on BLOOD IS THICKER.

Also, some work on a critique and two blog posts.

I had a productive week, though somewhat off from the last few weeks...I maintained a five-hundred-words-a-day pace throughout, even on busy days.

Most of the busy centered on my washer and dryer---the washer started leaking about two weeks ago and the dryer conked out last Tuesday. I looked at new ones, bought a washer and dryer on Thursday, then waited around Friday for someone to come and install them. I rearranged most of my other activities around that. (That reminded me to load up my dryer and put stuff in my washer.)

One other good thing---from the murky depths of my subconscious, a plot for my current work emerged. It's not the formless-aimless work it was before. I know where it's all going; all I have to do is work out a few details and write it out. Of the thirty-thousand-plus words I've written so far, I'll probably discard twenty thousand of them (see my notion elsewhere about starting in the story as late as one can manage), but might incorporate some later as flashbacks or something.

Too much. Book 2 is already longer than book 1, and not three fourths done.

Well, according to Smashwords, long e-books do well. [Wink]
