It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.
I did a lot of work on my outline for my July Camp NaNo novel, From Heights We Fall. I'm nearly done in fact, which is good since July starts in a week. I'm looking forward to starting this, despite all the stuff on my plate over the next month.
I also made some notes on a couple new ideas and a few old ones. A few blog posts done up as well.

I got up a 3.20 a.m. because I couldn't sleep, watched 10 minutes of Jeremy Kyle, which was sufficient to almost demolish any faith I have in humanity, then was struck by a story idea and spent two hours writing before I ran out of steam. Now I'm looking at it and wondering how to progress it.

Had an epiphany for the secondary plot line in book 2 and spent several hours on it. Pushing the 100k word mark. Nice thing is, this will mesh perfectly with book 3.

Kept at it---I crossed the forty thousand word mark---but had two busy days and did no writing then. Maybe not today, either.
Other than that, production has been good, a plot has emerged, and it'll be a matter of putting the right details into it.

I have written today, but not last night. Last night my dog, nine-month-old Uhtred, died of a black widow bite. My wife and I sat with him while he drew his last, strained breaths. I then dug him a grave, and the land turned out to be a former landfill, which means I dug through glass and bricks and all sort of odds and ends for two hours. The dog saved my daughter from the spider bite and struggled to make it home to die in my kitchen. I was far too distraught to write. I'm still a little heartbroken (my wife has taken it the hardest), but today, I find his courage an inspiration.

So sorry, Rich. What a loss, but what a brave soul your family was blessed to know. Please accept my condolences.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread. I wrote yesterday (got over 1k), and I am closing in on the end.
Uhtred's sacrifice inspired some of the prose. I sure did miss him being at the door, tail wagging his but around sideways when I got home for dinner last night, and him leaning across my lap while I was trying to put my shoes on yesterday morning and today. But last night, I didn't hear ghost-whining, and I didn't picture his dying breaths as much.

If I may ask, did you leave our Dirigo state since last we swapped emails? To my knowledge, we have no native poisonous species in Maine (one of the many pleasant reasons to live here).
[Of particular interest to me since, if I recall correctly, I work in the town just south of where you are/were].

I spruced up an older piece of WIP for use in a WotF submission. That is all. The office that I've been building in the basement for the past month is just about finished (hopefully move in this weekend), then I'll have time to resume my writing life again.

I have not written in a while. I did read two of my stories in progress to see how they can be changed to meet my needs. One needs to be clipped. Not sure where. The other needs to be expanded. I did realize that I have no WHY as to what really happens and what changes goes on. It is set in a historical period and I now realize it is not accurate historically. I don't say what period it is but am trying to hint at it. With both pieces, I touched up a word or sentence here and there.
