Are you a literature lover? Do you want to share your love and work with the world? Do you want to get paid by writing online? If so, then we have some news for you! The first writing contest held by FicFun will take place this July. Professional writers, amateurs, and literature lovers alike are all encouraged to make an entry! In addition to prizes up to $7,000, we will select writers with potentials to become contracted authors. This means we’ll pay you for every word you write! Sound good? Then don’t hesitate to act now!

Valid site and about what it purports to be on first blush. Benign at this time. A sample review of the posted content evinces similarities to similar sites, more or less an evolution of self-publication and fan fiction sans the proprietary original narratives' infringements, with revision "updates" and brief reviewer comment posts. Grammar issues all over the site and content, about par for unscreened self-publication. The org's free advertising push across the Internet, while aggressive, is high volume astroturf-type vanity.

Not yet consensus-determined if the contest is genuine or for another, less noble intent -- several hallmarks of Writer Beware red flags, though, at least yellow flags, that the contest is new and not yet consensus vetted -- at least growing pain pitfalls ahead. The biggest red flag is the contest requires total, exclusive rights assignment to ficfun, without any restriction. That alone is a deal breaker for me.
