I guess I'll kick off again this week.

quote:
Welcome to this week's Novel Support Group (NSG). Anyone can join. If you're new, tell us a bit about who you are and what project you are working on. Feel free to update the NSG Work in Progress thread with your current projects. Although we can report on any number of things, here is a list of suggestions (suggestions welcomed).

What were your goals last week and did you accomplish them?
Describe what you worked on.
Set goals for next week.
Did you learn something during this week?

Here is a list of things that you can do each week as we work on our novels (suggestions welcomed).

Writing on a novel
Characterization
World Building
Relevant research

As for me:

Last Week's Goals:

FIRE AND EARTH (formerly known as SEVEN STARS): Send out three queries.
Well, the envelopes are stuffed and stamped. They'll go out today. [Smile]

BLOOD WILL TELL: Read some more about marketing.
Hmm. Nothing much, here, again. [Frown]

BLOOD IS THICKER: Let it rest.
Easy one. [Smile]

THE BARD'S GIFT: Chapters 23 and 24.
Yes. [Smile]

MAGE STORM: Continue to let the revision ideas simmer just a little longer.
Eh. Well, I've actually started the revisions, just a little. [Smile]

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Yes. [Smile]

Next Week's Goals:

FIRE AND EARTH (formerly known as SEVEN STARS):
Send out three queries.

BLOOD WILL TELL:
Read some more about marketing. Seriously. I need to do something about this.

BLOOD IS THICKER:
Let it rest.

THE BARD'S GIFT:
Chapters 25 and 26.

MAGE STORM:
Continue with the revision. I'm just about at the part that's going to need the most change, so it'll probably go a bit slow from here for a while.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.

Last week's goals:

Novel (as yet untitled): Write 18 hours and approximately 18,000 words. Made it to 13 hours and about 14,000 words.

This week's goals:

Novel (as yet untitled): Update the outline to reflect the changes that happened in actual writing; create a better subplot for a key supporting character; Spend a few minutes mocking scenes up prior to actually writing them (hoping this will make my scenes more effective in the end); Spend 15 hours in actual writing time and approximately 15,000 words.

This week I got to work on "Angel Kin" and "Stone Within" twice.

My MC in Angel is still fighting the guy over fifty feet in the air and she just discovered that not only doesn't she have to pull her punches but she needs to use all her strength and use the techniques the strange guy who keeps showing up told her about.

Stone is describing how she saved the woman who would become her best friend from a vampire. The first and only time Stone has ever seen one. I decided Stone needs a friend for two reasons. One I stated before about how I can get some information across in conversations between the two and many of these types of UF books have a best friend, that includes one of the two books this one is sort of, kinda of inspired by.

Anyway, chapter six and I just added the friend. I will have to go back and mention her a few times.
