High school teacher of English and drama, here. Unfortunately, Summers are the only chance I get to focus on my writing career (and by "career" I mean "that thing I hope to have some day after I sell a book, or at least a story. But probably a book, because I'm not particularly interested in short stories.")

Working on my 3rd novel right, hoping this is the one that sees the light of day. Working title "Soul of the Machine." I'm not in love with the title; I'll come up with something better later. Think of it as a twisted cyberpunk love story. Very tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic, dark humor. I really believe in this book. As a side note, this is my first foray into 1st person present tense. i never liked it before, but it just felt right for this one. While I think the last book I wrote was very good, I think this one will probably come out as much more marketable.

My goal right now: write new words for 1/2 hour every day. (I would love to do more, but with 3 kids 4 years old and younger, even that much is tough to come by some days.

Last week, accomplished.

I managed to do some work on Two Struggles but not much. Too much time on the challenge and on WotF.

Hopefully this week I can do more revising.

Did I have a goal last week?
I hope not.
Novel sat for 7 days stuck on having to write a large chunk of "missing time" where we have to assume nothing interesting happened for months at a time. Same-o same-o, yet, we're supposed to want to read everything...

Transitions of time stink.

But I broke through with a crappy chapter for the sake of breaking through. Now I'm out the other end and can get back to writing new words.

Yay for breakthroughs, Axe! Sometimes, that's exactly what you have to do and just tell yourself you'll fix it in the revisions. Been there. [Smile]
