As for me.

Last Week's Goals:

MAGE STORM: Wait out the latest request and a couple of recent queries. Consider alternate possibilities.
Still waiting. [Frown]

MAGIC AND POWER: Work on tightening the first five chapters and on the query. Long way to go yet on that query.
Not this week. [Frown]

THE SHAMAN'S CURSE: Finish the final revisions. Work on the cover art. Plan for a July launch.
Done. Ready to upload and start planning how to get the word out. [Smile]

DREAMER'S ROSE: Pause, for now.
Easy one. [Smile]

THE IGNORED PROPHECY: Pause for now.
Another easy one. [Smile]

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Yes. [Smile]

Next Week's Goals:

MAGE STORM:
Wait out the latest request and a couple of recent queries. After that, I'll probably try a small publisher.

MAGIC AND POWER:
Work on tightening the first five chapters and on the query. Long way to go yet on that query.

THE SHAMAN'S CURSE:
Plan for a July launch.

DREAMER'S ROSE:
Pause, for now.

THE IGNORED PROPHECY:
Pause for now.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.

It looks like I missed this last week.

I've been going through the rewrites on all four Warstone Quartet novels. I needed more words in the last book, Darkstone, and wrote another episode this week getting the word count to nearly 97,000. I may have to put in another episode.

Worked a bit on my romance novel scene outline.

NEXT WEEK:

More work on Darkstone.

More work on romance novel

Write an agent pitch for the first Warstone book and see if there is any conventional publisher interest.

I'm still in the process of world building and designing cause to explain effect in the story's milieu. I've got most of it nailed down but am now working on the dystopian human society's belief systems. I had thought of creating a state created religion, a sort of cross between Bushido, Norse and Spartan, and then realised that it wouldn't work. So, I am now thinking about the 'normal' mix of Earth religions except that they have been subjugated to the 'needs' of the State. A slight re-emphasis that is useful in moulding the minds of the populace into accepting the new, State-sanctioned, ethical behaviour norms and expectations.

Phil.

I've picked up my cyberpunk novel I drafted last Summer to get back to work on it. Goal: get it finished this Summer. I was happy to discover that (A) I really like what I wrote, and (B) I actually don't think there's a lot of fixing required. Some, definitely, but no major overhauls. It is quite good in its current form. All it needs is polishing.

Goal for next week: One hour working on it every day.

I like the idea of the state repurposing religion for its own nefarious purposes, Phil. It has certainly happened before, and it seems to me like a rich vein for world development.

Same as last time. I am working on the conclusion of Stone Within .

I changed something else which will mean going back and redoing certain scenes. But the whole novel will be that. I made so many changes and additions that I almost need to just go back and rewrite it.

And something I didn't think of last time, or the week before that.

I am revising my Two Struggles Novel for the last time. I had fits and starts on the revising and have like three copies of different chapters but this is it. A nice woman copy edited it for me. So I am correcting all the commas mistakes and some sentences that were too rough and even changing the position of a couple of scenes, and related editing. I just pretty much finished ch 8 of 11. I say pretty much, but I still need to reposition two scenes. I can do that easy even though I will probably have to rewrite a couple of sentences.
