As for me.

Last Week's Goals:

MAGE STORM: Think about submitting this to a small publisher or else do another rewrite.
No decision yet. [Frown]

MAGIC AND POWER: Send out three more queries.
Yes. [Smile]

THE SHAMAN'S CURSE: Watch and see how sales go on Kindle Select.
Pretty well, actually. [Smile] Although borrows are starting to outpace sales.

THE IGNORED PROPHECY: Wait for beta readers.
One critique back. Starting to plan the attack on the revisions. [Smile]

BEYOND THE PROPHECY (Briefly PATHS OF CHAOS): Keep the first draft moving along. (Hopefully, pick up some momentum.)
Well, the heat wave kept me from making much progress. I know exactly what happens in the next few chapters, but this might get sidelined for revisions to TIP. [Frown]

DREAMER'S ROSE: Pause, for now.
Easy one. [Smile]

WEIRD OZ: Let the new ideas ferment a bit.
Another easy one. [Smile]

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Yes. [Smile]

Next Week's Goals:

MAGE STORM:
Think about submitting this to a small publisher. But I may want to rewrite it with a slightly older protagonist first. I won't have an opening to do that for a couple of months.

MAGIC AND POWER:
Send out three more queries.

THE SHAMAN'S CURSE:
Continue to watch how sales go on Kindle Select.

THE IGNORED PROPHECY:
Start working on the revisions from the first critique to come back.

BEYOND THE PROPHECY (Briefly PATHS OF CHAOS):
Try to keep the first draft moving at least until I get through the next chapters I have in my head.

DREAMER'S ROSE:
Pause, for now.

WEIRD OZ:
Let the new ideas ferment a bit.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.

I've been editing my print proofs of the re-launch of the Shattuk Downs novels. I still can't believe I published an earlier draft of the first book to e-books. *shakes head* A lot of work ahead. I've gone through the first volume and half of the second. It's a hard slog and I'm anxious to return to fresh writing.

Been a slow week for me. I didn't quite reach my goal of at least 10 pages for a few days in a row, but I managed to at least get some writing done the first day and around 7 pages and some random scenes the others. Yesterday things picked up again and I jumped slightly ahead of myself in the story to almost completely finish my hero's run through the treasure trove. Thanks to my work yesterday I had the groundwork to also make solid work today, and I've already made a lot of progress.

It's kind of exciting to see that even though I'm only about a third of the way through the book when it comes to organized and completed chapters, I've got a good 70 manuscript pages beyond what I've done, waiting for me to fill in the blanks and link them to the story. A chunk of that will be writing I probably won't use, but even so it feels more like I've got 2/3s of the book done and some of the writing days ahead will be easier. I might be able to get far more than 10 pages on some days, even.

So after a lull earlier I'm back in stride and looking forward to where the story takes me next. This is a story I was excited about from the start, an adventure story similar to Fablehaven but with a few twists from the usual.
