Welcome to this week's Novel Support Group. Anyone can join. If you're new, tell us a bit about who you are and what project you are working on. Feel free to update the NSG Work in Progress thread with your current projects. Although we can report on any number of things, here is a list of suggestions (suggestions welcomed).

What were your goals last week and did you accomplish them?
Describe what you worked on.
Set goals for next week.
Did you learn something during this week?

Here is a list of things that you can do each week as we work on our novels (suggestions welcomed).

As for me:

Last Week's Goals:

DUAL MAGICS SERIES (THE SHAMAN'S CURSE, THE VOICE OF PROPHECY, BEYOND THE PROPHECY,and WAR OF MAGIC): Seriously plan promotions for the audio book. I need to follow-up on one group promotion. And plan something else, probably around the same time.
Group promo in the works. I still need to do at least one other. [Smile]

Wide Distribution Project: Prepare the files for FIRE AND EARTH, THE BARD'S GIFT, DAUGHTER OF THE DISGRACED KING, and the boxed set BY SWORD, TALE, OR MAGIC. There's no rush.
The first three are now widely distributed. However, I met a check on Amazon (where I'm updating the back matter as I go). Waiting for Amazon to resolve the issue that is turning the text red--I think it's their problem, not mine. [Frown]

BECOME: BROTHERS: Promote on social media.
Not really. [Frown]

BECOME: TO CATCH THE LIGHTNING: Keep on writing.
Yes! [Smile]

MAGE STORM: Probably nothing this week.
Good call. [Wink]

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Yes. [Smile]

Next Week's Goals:

DUAL MAGICS SERIES (THE SHAMAN'S CURSE, THE VOICE OF PROPHECY, BEYOND THE PROPHECY,and WAR OF MAGIC):
Plan at least one more promotion of the audiobook.

Wide Distribution Project:
Prepare the files for BY SWORD, TALE, OR MAGIC, but hold off until the Amazon issue is resolved.

BECOME: BROTHERS:
Promote on social media.

BECOME: TO CATCH THE LIGHTNING:
Keep on writing.

MAGE STORM:
Probably nothing this week.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.

Not much to report this week.

Still thinking on what to do with the Courier-I need to decide but also hoping someone but suggest someone to edit it-at least proof read it.

No work on the dragon punk-steampunk thingie. When I do finish the last chapter I may redo the first through fourth chapters. They have what I want but I am not totally satisfied with at least the first one, probably second one too.

Did some work the revision of Journey. Over half way done but it may take me a long while to finish that last thirty-five to forty precent

Though I am not soliciting for work here at Hatrack, editors like me charge per word, per page, or per quarter hour time. Me, between $0.35 to $2.00 per page, dependent on quantity and complexity of suggestions and editorial method contracted for, say, inline, or separate errata sheet and style sheet, plus, if a light copyedit report wanted about gross shortfalls, like passive voice and stranded participles, logic and fact checks, continuity and consistency assessment, maybe plot hole observations. Or solely a straight-up grammar check itself.

For example, "proofread" and "halfway" are compounded words anymore, since circa 1960. One word? Two words? Or hyphenated words? are a second-level challenge for writers, after general diction, syntax, punctuation, spelling -- basic-level grammar generally.
