As for me:

Last Week's Goals:

DUAL MAGICS SERIES:As time permits, go through the x-ray listings for the Dual Magics boxed set and THE BARD'S GIFT. Well, now that it's summer, maybe I'll get around to this.
Not yet. [Frown] Probably not until I finish this first draft.

BECOME: TO CATCH THE LIGHTNING: Promote through social media.
Some. [Smile]

BECOME: TO RIDE THE STORM: Move forward with the first draft. Try to get about two more chapters down. The goal is to finish this first draft by the first week in September. As of last week I was on Chapter 39, 76,000 words in.
Ahead of schedule so far. [Big Grin]

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Yes. [Smile]

Next Week's Goals:

DUAL MAGICS SERIES:
As time permits, go through the x-ray listings for the Dual Magics boxed set and THE BARD'S GIFT. Maybe I'll get to this after I finish the first draft of BECOME: TO RIDE THE STORM.

BECOME: TO CATCH THE LIGHTNING:
Promote through social media.

BECOME: TO RIDE THE STORM:

Struggled to fit concertina wire-topped cyclone fence. Doesn't fit as much more than a coincidental setting and milieu feature, perhaps for foreshadows. Otherwise, the motif's dramatic function is too remote and detached for natural and necessary agonist drama.

Maud Casey, "It's a Wooden Leg First," advises against symbol hunts and plants. Barbed wire is a symbol plant unless an agonist comes into immediate contention with it. From aspects of the Riot Act, a motif is natural and necessary if the motif is immediately causal. Remote, detached, pendent, imminent, or immediate hazard? or influence anyway.

Otherwise, that remote to immediate progression requires each step stone's development. Also, that is a Chekhov's Gun. If attention is lavished on the barbed wire early on, it must soon or late be a "fired gun." An agonist must contend with the barbed wire hurdle. Once and done will not do. Therefore, too much unnatural, forced, unnecessary detail emphasis development falsely implies relevance and importance. Hence, another "telling detail" motif that is relevant and important and immediate and concrete as well as symbolic and abstract is wanted.

What of the fortress courthouse back entrance and walk-thru arraignment kiosk is apt, immediate, and relevant? Criminal indigence is the situation, and agonist's want for a selfie with a convicted, nonviolent indigent in an inmate safety vest for a scavenger hunt. Perhaps a looky-lou caught out by the cattle call? Where's your govEmploy registration? Citation issued. Next stop anyway is govEmploy offices to timely enroll no later than thirty days after a twenty-fifth birthday, find an actual time card, and take selfies for the scavenger hunt with those red-tape documents. Time card -- unsuccessful.
