I've been having such fun with this, having only joined the Potterverse recently. (Backstory there - I only started reading fiction again in the last 8 mos, having read very little in the previous 6-8 years. Wow, I forgot how much I missed it!) So anyway, after being away this weekend, I finally got my book Tuesday morning, finished it Wednesday night. And, as I'm flipping back through thinking about things, about how the author chose certain ways of expressing herself, a few passages really stood out to me. Anyone care to join?
Favorite line of the book (truly sums up the whole Potterverse experience) - end of chapter 35, p723 of US Hardback. Dumbledore to Harry:
"Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean it is not real?"
Loved the characterization that was accomplished in this line, chapter 36, p730 US Hardback:
"NO!"
"The scream was the more terrible because he had never expected or dreamed that Professor McGonagall could make such a sound."
And because I think it's funny and maybe in each and every book, the obligatory Ron calling Harry (or someone else) mental:
p748 Ron to Harry:
"What?" said Ron loudly. "Are you mental?"
The line that made (makes) me cry:
Lily to Harry, Chapter 34, p699:
"You've been so brave."
