My name is Barbara. I have written on and in envelopes, napkins and spiral notebooks for years. I haven't shared works with others before so this is a step outside my comfort zone...but a good step. I've enjoyed looking around.

Indeed be welcome. Meredith is right we don't bite--what we write might but not us.
As you may know by now you aren't alone in leaving your comfort zone. I think most of us here had to do that a time or three in dealing with our writing. And as you also probably know those who know something about writing do not mind sharing it.
However as you explore the treehouse do be careful if you see a unicorn...she may or may not bite, you never know.

Since this is your first time sharing your work I want to suggest you develop a thick skin. Every writer faces criticism on some level and the criticism of your peers is the first and sometimes most painful of those levels. Just remember two things.
One: Most of the feedback you get here will be an attempt to help you improve. Even if you hate what you hear, be grateful for the effort.
Two: You don't have to take any advice you receive. Even from editors. (Though I suggest you give them a wider berth. Take what you like, leave what you don't and most important of all. Write, write, WRITE!
Can't wait to see your work!
