I am of course new to the forum. This will be my first time on a writing forum. A little bit about myself; I am an avid reader of SF and big fan to say the least. A dream of mine is to someday write. I believe I have it in me but lack the fortitude to follow through. I dont know if its a fear of failure or a fear of reality. I know I need to " sit or get off the pot " so here I am.

G'day, just joined recently myself. My opening word of advice would be this: if you want to write, get out a keyboard, or pen and paper, and start writing. The moment you do that, you'll start learning how to write and all the things you don't know about it. Then start asking questions.
But as you probably know by now this is a good place to learn to get going. (You can take that in any way you want to)
A bunch of friendly people here who are in the same place you are, however watch for that unicorn she ain't friendly.
