Does anyone know how to make the little lights go out after I've visited and checked out the new posts?

I have to be honest, I don't come around as much anymore because it's more difficult for me to keep track of what's new, and what isn't because I can't get the lights to go out.

I can click on the invisible icon under the tree in the upper left, but that doesn't blink out the lights like it used to.

I look at the updates to posts, but... well, yuck.

Anyone?

Those lights were never very consistent for me on the old board, so I tend to ignore them.

What I do, usually, is go by the dates and times of the last post in each topic. I know I've read those topics that have a last date/time before my last visit, and I just read the topics with a last date/time after my last visit.

With the old board all the lights would be on until I checked a forum , when I went back to the full list of forums only the new ones would have lights. Now they seem to always stay on. Not that I look that much since I ignore them too.

I do however check on the opposite side for dates. Or a new poster. If the latest post posted has my name I know there aren't any new ones. Or if the date is from days ago ditto. If it is the same day or if I forget a if a name is new, sometimes I have to check to make sure but it usually works out okay.

They work just fine for me, perhaps you have some sort of cookie blocking going on.

They work fine for me as well. I still go by the dates because they never worked on the old board. They work fine for me now.

Try logging out and logging back in while saving your reply settings - name and password - anew on your computer in the "remember" field.

Well that worked.
It's longer than just clicking the (currently invisible) refresh icon, but I can probably deal.
Even tho I had to do it twice. [Smile]

Thanks M-E

Oh wow, I didn't know it all of that hidden away.

Anything else that's secret that I should have figured out?

Well there's that colony of Byakee in the basement, and all those giant, blind albino penguins in the depths of the freezer...

Byakee?

Yeah, I know the treehouse has all kinds of secrets but the controls are usually straight forward, if you can find them.

And mine seem to be working now. The lights at least and some times the folder icons turn color. I assume yellow means it was recently posed at. While white means it's sat for a while.
