This is one of my favorite places to either ride my horse to or hike to... and my first time to play my flute here. The song is my version of "Colors of the Wind" from Disney's "Pocahontas". I panned out to the river to show how high the water was and then up the hill that I had to climb down to get to the falls at the video's end. The big falls is located below and not far from the Salamonie dam, and with the reservoir up to record high levels, the flood gates were open full tilt to let the water surge down the river.

So anyway, here's the video:

I thought that was very lovely. My only complaint would be that the noise of the waterfall should be 'edited' out. That's only if you've got a sound desk handy.

Phil.

Yes, that was me. I set the camcorder up on a tripod so I can film myself.

Thank you for such a sweet compliment. Native American style flutes have become my latest passion, and I played clarinet all through my school years, which gives me an edge when playing my flutes. I'll see if I can't post more songs in the future now that I've figured out how to use a camcorder [Big Grin] .

I wouldn't have the first clue on how to do that. All I have is a camcorder that I just barely know how to use. Never had one before this one [Smile] . Actually a lot of the noise was from the dam and the water roaring out the flood gates. It's not all that far up the river from the falls.

Finally get to saying this.

Very nice. Relaxing even. You are definitely multi talented.

But is that a fox or horse on your flute?

And personally I didn't mind the waterfall. My feelings are if you are going to show it than let it be heard but perhaps toned down just a bit. If you learn how. But as I said that is my feelings on it. I can see how some would like to hear just the flute though.

I honestly don't know if the block (also known as a fetish) represents any animal. Here's a close up of that flute. It's a High Spirits flute, made by Odell Borg, called a Kestrel. I made the bag by the way [Smile] :
