A short, round woman with burgundy skin enters the room confidently. Lucius turns around and smiles like she’s a friend. “Captain, you made it.”
“I got buried under a dragger’s pile of paperwork at the VectorDocks. Have they been treating you well?”
“I could use a snack and something to drink, but they haven’t been bothering me with too many questions. I guess I’m just not the media type.”
The captain’s brow furrowed and the thin, burgundy tendrils atop her head start to wiggle, seemingly in confusion. Then it seems like a realization hits her and the tendrils calm down. “You didn’t tell them who you are, did you?”
“Never do.”
The captain turns to you and her golden eyes are friendly, “Forgive my manners, I’m Oru Fonturu, owner of Far Out Freighters and Captain of the Gadzooks.” She sits in the second seat across from your desk. “You’ve had a chance to meet a few of the rest of the crew but I’m assuming you have some questions for me. This trip may go into the record books, so ask away. We’ll try to answer your questions the best we can.”

"Are you referring to my gondarii? All Doroons have them you know. It was an ancient survival mechanism on our planet. They are not 'things' but a part of me. Much like that dead fuzz that rides atop your scalp is a part of you."

The little bird in Lucius' hair tweets and sings for a long moment.

"No offense, Logic."

The bird flies down to land on the Captain's shoulder and trills in her ear. She smiles at the sweet sound.
