Ok, I am reworking an old novel I wrote--the very first I completed. (well the first that was worth the paper it was written on, anyway) I have done it in three POV's; all knowing, first person present tense, and limited third.
Oddly, I am finding that I like the present tense first person the best.
Is anyone up to reading the three versions--one chapter--no crit!!! I just want to have a few opinions on which one works best---and if you think a person could stand reading through an entire novel of present tense--think about 120,000 words of novel.
The chapter is about 3,000 words--so that times three.
Yes, its rough and needs other work---I am just interested in the POV tense issue right now.

I'd like to take a look.
And for what it's worth, I find that after a few pages of reading present tense I'm blind to it. The longest story I've ever read in present tense was Robert Silverberg's novella, "Hot Times in Magma City," and I didn't find it too strange or distracting.

Shawn, it did? That's really weird...I don't have any blockers on my AOL account. Damned Time Warner.
Try this one instead: hdicompany@aol.com. Let me know if it does anything hostile.

You already know my POV preferances, but if you really feel that the various versions are about equal as far as you can tell, I respect your judgement enough to be interested in reading all three versions (please don't let me down here, sr).

Shawn, I’m curious. Which POV did people tend to prefer/find would work for novel lenght for the story, if you don’t mind sharing your reader research?
