I will be doing a weekly collumn in my hometown newspaper starting this Sunday. It's called Small Town, U.S.A. I am hoping it will be picked up by other small town papers in my area. The owner of the paper also owns five or six other small town papers, so I am contacting him to see if he is interested. It was an easy sell, and I am really excited!

Very nice, sl! I've often thought about writing some book reviews for one of our local papers here in St. Louis, but have just never gotten off the hump to do it. I'm happy to see a fellow writer on the ball and in print! An inspiration to us all (at least me). <grin>

Tell me, are you primarily a fiction writer, doing the newspaper as any good writer would, to write and get in print? Or are you an article writer by trade? Just curious.

I'd just like to say that according to Ernest Hemingway, working for a newspaper is the best training ground for a fiction writer (and perhaps the non-fiction writer, too). Congratulations, and good luck!
