Today was a pretty good day. I got word from T-Zero webzine that a craft writing piece on using cuss words in fiction that I wrote will appear in their September or October issue. I'll post a link when it actually shows.

Kathleen is also publishing a serialized piece I wrote for her on providing feedback that will appear first in her August newsletter. That link is: http://userpages.burgoyne.com/workshop

Way to go, Christine! I always appreciate your opinion, so the providing feedback piece is right up your alley. BTW, is the cuss word piece pro or con? I guess I will just have to wait and read it myself. I am sure it is great. Congrats! -BA-

Generally, the article is against cuss words, but specifically I'm just trying to get people to think about one consequence of using cuss words. I always figure you can do anything you want as long as you understand and are willing to accept the consequences. The editor called it "thought provoking" so I guess it's done its job.

Nicely done, Christine. Give yourself a couple nice pats on the back!

ETA: Just read the piece in the SFFW newsletter. Excellent, as always!

Wonderful news. I've always respected your insights and advice and can't wait to read the both of them. Coming from you I know they will be well thought out and helpful.

I just realized this is your first publishing credit. Silly girl! That's deserves much bigger huzzahs. I figured you were an old hand at this, you were so subdued.

Huzzah!

LOL...Hazzah!!!!!!

You know what happened...this is going to sound so stupid of me. I had a bunch of friends over playing cards when I found out and I came over and told them all about it and one of them said, "So, what high school publication was this?" So I got kinda sullen and withdrawn for the rest of the evening.

Sign...needing to ignore what dumbass people say.

Wait until I get my first fiction credit to my name...won't be letting anyone spoil that. (Or if he does it again, I'll sock him in that stupid mouth of his...)

A sock in the mouth wouldn't do. A person like that deserves a good kick in the Chotch! At least that is what I'd do!

Bigger? You got it!!!

HUZZAH!!! HUZZAH!!! HUZZAH!!!

They'd only let me have eight smilies? Not enought!

Yeah! TruHero and I will come over and beat up the next non-writer who gives you lip. Writers are allowed to, but only if it's in a critique.

Christine:

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

I read your piece on critiquing and bless you eternally for writing it. I need to take some of it to heart and learn to refine my own crit'ing techniques!

I'm glad to have writers like you to guide writers like me! *G*

Just read part 2. Excellent work, Christine. Got me thinking about the critiquing I do with a careful, critical eye and an eagerness to improve.

Thanks, Dakota, I hadn't even noticed it was up yet!

It's up! My first paid ($15 is better than a slap in the face) piece of writing...

Also, the last part of the 3-part series on feedback should be up any day now.
