Just recently sold my first two stories. "The Forgotten" goes up on Allegory on 1st January and I have just received a contract from Flashing Swords for "Memories Of Ashes". Nice to make a sale on Christmas Day!
Anyway, both these stories were critiqued here so I would just like to thank everyone who made comments on them and especially those who waded through the entire stories. Without their valuable input both these stories would still be gathering dust on my shelf

Congratulations! How did you hear about Allegory and Flashing Swords? Are they still open markets?

Thanks Rick. I found them both, like I find all the markets I submit to, through Duotrope. Allegory make a token payment of $15 and will be open for submissions again on 1st January. Flashing Swords is still open and pay 1 cent per word up to a maximum of $60.
By the way, the editor of Flashing Swords pointed me to a really helpful site called sfreader. A lot of editors of various magazines post on their forums and so you might get a lot of the latest news there.
