It's been a LONG time since I've posted at Hatrack, but one of the stories that several members were kind enough to crit finally sold. I had to do a search to find when exactly I had posted "The Bone Harp" here and it was last March. Good grief! Exactly a year ago. Weird.
Anyway, I had a terrible time getting any mags to buy this one, finally undertook another huge revision, added about 1400 words to it, and the thing got snatched up right away. Wow!

LOL - Not at all! You know, when you're chasing a word count, you tend to leave stuff out, to condense the story until it fits the requirement. That was the problem with this one. So when the bloody thing got rejected by the mag that I wrote it for (don't you hate that?), I should've filled in the gaps then and there, instead of waiting a year -- and many more rejections -- to do it. Oh, well.
