This is topic "The Chaplain's Assistant" to Stan Schmidt at Analog SF in forum Hatrack Writers - Publications & Reviews at Hatrack River Writers Workshop.
This marks my second sale to that market, and my 3rd pro sale in the last 12 months. Hard to believe. 17 years of nothing but rejections, and now 3 pro sales in under a year. Folks, I have said it before and I will say it again: persistence wins! That, and a lot of writing and hard work and being willing to learn from the best.
Looks like I am SFWA material now. =^)

Nice work, Brad!

Yeah, congrats .
Of course, if I recall correctly, you can't enter WotF anymore.
If you were interested that is.
But would you mind telling me how many stories it was in 17 years?
Posted by Brad R Torgersen (Member # 8211) on :
Let me put it this way: 870,000 unpublished words, prior to winning WOTF late last year. That's including numerous short works, and several aborted novel projects.

Brad, congratulations, I believe this now qualifies you to join the SFWA.
Posted by Brad R Torgersen (Member # 8211) on :
Yup, SFWA eligible now. Might wonder over to the site and take the plunge. Still gotta think about costs. I have no idea how much membership is.

Just saw you Brad in the video they have up of the winners of last quarters comp. Nice uniform. That looked like loads of fun.
Posted by Brad R Torgersen (Member # 8211) on :
Yup, it was one heck of a fun ride. I always tell everyone who can enter, that they should enter. No down side, tons of up side. Enjoyed myself the entire time, and was treated like a prince.

Mazel tov, Brad! That's great!
Hmmm...but the "17 years" and "870K words" before pro publication...well, I'll likely be dead by then.
