My short story "Death Watch" was nominated by reader for the Preditors and Editors Reader's Poll Best of 2011 for Short Stories in Science Fiction and Fantasy. Needless to say I was both surprised and flattered.
Well I never expected it, but I am in race to the finish with another great story. We have been trading 1st and 2nd place for a couple of days now.

It looks like the final tallies are in and I placed 2nd in the Science Fiction short story category. Thanks to all the votes. Not bad for a first timer that I am.

Yea, I believe there were 42 in the running. And it was a back and forth on first place. So the story put up a heck of a fight for First.
