I just changed the cover for my story The Ashes of Yester. You can see it here:

I don't have any special software, just Picasa editor. I buy the stock photos on Bigstock, then play around with it it until it feels right to me. Not professional quality, but I don't think it's too bad. And I enjoy doing it. Maybe if I get good enough I'll do some for other people. Anyway, just wanted to see what everyone else is using and what recommendations they might have.

I don't know about that, MartinV. I'd like to know what everyone else uses. I'm new to this, so I don't try for anything too fancy.

Looks good. My only concern is that the green text at the top is hard to read against the background.
