This is topic First Pro Sale to AE: The Canadian SF Review - Until They Come in forum Hatrack Writers - Publications & Reviews at Hatrack River Writers Workshop.
This intro took 2nd in the recent SF intro challenge run by axeminister.
Until They Come is about two mechanicals on an orbital platform waiting for humans to return to repair the Earth. It is loosely inspired by Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett.
This was one of the rewrites I was working on. The story grew from 1400 to 2100 words, and I think it's much stronger for the editor's suggestions.
I am thrilled to finally get my first pro sale - also SFWA qualifying. I've been doing the tango with this milestone for awhile. Feels. Really. Good.

The simple matter of time was the only thing holding you back from your first pro sale. Time, is all that's left between you and a writing career. Mark my confusing words folks...
