Hey I just published on Smashwords a set of five stories.

First try, I may have to work on that cover for the small size but it looks like I did everything else right.

A short PS.

I double checked my story set, the Epub version may have two slight problems but I don't know if either would be considered a problem.

But according to Smashwords the set will be reviewed by humans and so we will see what they-him-her think. When they get to it.

The good news is that it's really easy to correct formatting problems with Smashwords--at least once you figure out how to fix it in the file. Just upload a corrected file.

From what understand that is correct, which is good.

I do have one thing that does need to be fixed but I think it can wait until they get done with the review and I fix everything.

Wish I knew how long that might take...I'm sure it depends on how busy they are right now but still a timeline would be nice.

One to two days in my experience, at most. They don't keep you waiting long. It depends on their workload, but they try to get it done asap.

CONGRATULATIONS! I've published there also--3 stories. One thing I noticed is I had one really good story...as good as anything out there...it has outsold the other two at about a 3-1 ratio. The other two stories were....face it....trunk stories. At some point I'll probably pull them. It really is better to put your best work out there. It took almost a month for them to review them for full distribution.

LD, everytime you upload a new version Smashwords has to revet it. But they've hired new staff so it doesn't take too long. I uploaded several versions of my first novel, "The Protectorit", and it's sequel, only because I kept finding stupid errors that needed fixed (God only knows how I missed them.) Now am going back after a couple of yrs on Smashwords and doing some editing as my writing has improved, not being gifted with high level literary skills, as most are here at HT. I hope to have an updated version 5 out soon. But even though I have been on SW for some time I will still need to have it re-vetted. Congratulations on joining the Smashwords group. KT

They must be busy...so far still pending.

Unless of course if mine needs an extra look over.

Hey , I did it. I received the premium status. Wow I thought for sure something would be wrong.

Actually, there is one thing but that is easily fixed and I will redo the first short blurb.

Good luck. Give yourself time. I've been on Smashwords for over 2 yrs and only just recently started selling lots. But, to do that I had to make book one free, like Coker recommends. It really works, people like free and now I'm on page one sci fi, highest rated thanks to the reviews from people who read the free first book in my series. I admit that I charged for the first year or so and finally when my stats dropped decided, what-the-hey, and wow, now things are going through the roof. So, be patient Padawan and the Force will come!

I may do the free thing when I put up my novel-which is in limbo at the moment-but this is a story set so I will wait. I didn't expected a lot of sales but a couple would nice. These aren't my best even though I have revised them and should be better than they were originally and I like a couple of the stories. The free twenty percent download has jumped, almost doubled in one day.

By this weekend I will be putting up my next story set. I thought about trying to find some hearts and wedding ring pics to put on the cover but I may settle for a nature shot I have.

The fantasy set is better writing over all, I think, but I'm having trouble figuring out a cover for general fantasy.
