Will someone proofread a ss for me? So far, I've only had a friend do it, and we all know that friends can be MUCH too kind... P.S.-ss is lingo for short story-it is by no means a German gaurd-I felt that I aught to specify that, so that no one is offended-I hate offending people

I'd be happy to do it as well. I've worked as a writing tutor, so I can sound as nice and praiseful as your friends while also offering well thought critique and suggestions . The more people you can get to proof it, the better as creative writing is so subjective. Feel free to e-mail and I'll give it a look.

I have been going to a site called critters.org which has a password protected forum for readers to critique others and have others critique them.
It is not as 'personal' as my five person group here, but it is still nice.

And upon further thought, you can join the Del Rey Writer's Group. After registering, you can post your short story for reviews. Only caveat is that it must be either sci-fi or fantasy.
