Just had to post that I've just had one of my short stories accepted for publication in Wild Child! I'm one happy camper, and I just wanted to thank a few folks on the boards here who helped me polish the story up: Rahl, Survivor, and Luc Reid all gave me tough but need criticism. I followed most of their advice and did a lot of rewriting, and here's the result! So thank you very much, folks.

Also, a separate thank you to Shawn for letting me know about Wild Child in the first place. This is my first work of fiction to be published...hopefully, more will follow!

Oh, right...the title. Silly me!

It's called The Soul Cloister. I'll shamelessly post a link when the first part (it is going to be serialized) is posted.

Wild Child's Fantasy editor---said--"It was great to get a sub that didn't stink, and to work with an author who acted professionally when dealing with an editor."

Good job.

I meant to ask you, this one was a long time in the making... how many rewrites did you end up doing?

Thanks, Shawn. It's always been my goal not to stink

As for the number of rewrites, Rahl, I went through two after the version you saw. The reason it took so long is that I put it down for a couple of months in between, because I wasn't satisfied by the first rewrite. I needed a break from it, so I left it in the proverbial drawer while I worked on other pieces. Then, when I was ready, I took it out and the final version just flowed from there.
