I would consider short story magazines to be writing related but I can see your point that the Reader's digest thing is about reading directly as opposed to works of fiction or other type themselves.

Magazines I am subscribed to. (Most of them recently).

Currently Subscribed

Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction
Realms of Fantasy
Archaelogy
Maxium
Stuff

Likly to get subsciptions to soon.

Skeptic (science related)
Analog
Asimov's Science Fiction

Formly subscribed to and might again.
National Geographic
Dragon
Dungeon
Backpacker
Moutain Bike
Newsweek

Formly subscribed
Inquest (don't collect cards and games as much anymore)
Wizard (great mag but not into comics much at all so I spend time and money on other reading material.)

I see how I said writing related, but what I meant was magazines such as Analog, Asimovs, and other short story stuff.

Ahh, sorry for the confusion. But I try to be a reader, first and foremost. So I kind of didn't think of those as "writing" magazines
