THE NOVELIST'S WORKSHOP
A Workshop and Mentoring Program for Novelists
Dave Wolverton is a New York Times bestselling author of over forty science fiction and fantasy novels for children and adults. He also is producing an eighty million dollar fantasy epic based upon his Runelords series. As coordinating judge of the world's largest science fiction writing contest, Dave has judged tens of thousands of short stories, taught dozens of seminars, and edited the annual Writer's of The Future Anthology. More recently, he taught creative writing at Brigham Young University.
Come learn how:
Writers can maximize their income

To grow a tale from first idea through final draft

To keep an audience engrossed

To create a bestseller

Under this unique new novel-writing program, Dave will help you master the skills of developing novel ideas from the first concept through the final draft. In this hands-on workshop, Dave will teach writing as a process, guiding students through various techniques for generating a story, discovering your characters, creating and tweaking plots, and writing for maximum impact.
MENTORING PROGRAM: After the Novelist Workshop, Dave will offer a Mentoring Program. For those who are accepted into the mentoring program, he will go beyond the workshop, editing each book two separate times as you prepare it for submission to publishers. While this program can be of help to new writers, it is designed to be of particular value to those who have written one or more novels, and are trying to figure out how to break out big.
In order to be accepted into the Mentoring Program, you must submit a story outline plus a 3-page writing sample or proof of previous publication in a professional magazine or book publisher. Deadline for submissions and registration are June 9th. No submission is necessary to attend the Novelist's Workshop.
